Summer Tunes pt. 3

Hey dolls! So sorry for this late post. I've been taking a break and trying to find scholarships. But anyways, here's the last and final part to "Summer Tunes." I had so many songs, couldn't fit them all into one post. Enjoy and until next time! XOXO

"Zero Gravity" by Kerli
Photo Credit; Top; Tank-top; Shorts; Wedges; Tote

I love Kerli's new single! It's so sweet and mello, and the video is edgy, wild, and soft. So in this outfit, I paired a light-weight top with a striped, tank and white shorts for a soft look. Then to add some wild colors, I found these super cute wedges to make your legs look miles-long, and a geometric tote in many different colors!

"Let Me Be Your Star" by Kathrine McPhee and Megan Hilty
Photo Credit; Dress; Necklace; Earrings; Shoes; Ring

My new favorite show about dancing, music, theater, drama, and Marlyn Monroe: Smash, featuring some of the greatest actors, singers, and dancers like Kathrine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Debra Messing, Christian Borle, Angelica Huston, and so many great actors, as well as guest appearances by Nick Jonas, Bernadette Peters, and Uma Thurman.
As for the outfit, I found this beautiful red, high-low dress and matched it with black heels with crystals, a crystal, bib necklace (that matches Megan's and Kathrine's), and crystal drop earrings. And for the final touch: a star ring! Now it's your moment to shine!

"Teach Me How to Jerk" by HBR Click
Photo Credit; Vest; Sweatpants; Bandeau; Shoes
I discovered this song when playing Kinect. On the first Dance Central game, this was one of my favorite hip hop songs. In this outfit, it's meant for a hip hop dancer, or anyone who wants to excersise. I have dancer sweatpants, a sequin bandeau, and a leopard print vest. Also, get a great workout in these Nike New Balance shoes.

That's all for now! Later dolls!

Baroque Fashion on Stardoll

Hey dolls! Being a violinist, music seems to run through my blood (note the Summer Tunez post). And the new line on Stardoll has edgy styles, cute designs, and classic pieces.

In producing drama, tension, luxuriance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, and music, Baroque is a period of artistic style that uses clear, interpreted detail and exaggerated motion. The style started around the 1600's in Rome, Italy, and had thus spread across Europe.

The Baroque period comes after the Renaissance period and before the Classical period, with composers such as Handel and Bach. A piece composed in the Baroque period is short, but not staccato, and fast tempo. So pieces may include Vivaldi "The Four Seasons," Monteverdi "L'Orfeo favola in musica," and Pachelbel "Canon in D."

The new Baroque fashion in Viole takes pieces with peplums, edgy shapes and cuts, layers, and "exaggerated" patterns to create eccentric, yet elegant, timeless styles. Provided is my friend, Girlpoweress, modeling pieces from the new line.

A Tribute Post: Hayden Williams

We've probably all seen many of a particular designer/illustrator's drawings. I'm talking about Hayden Williams, British designer/illustrator. Recently, I asked if I could do a story about him for the blog. What luck, huh?! He said yes, and here is our interview. Included are fashion inspired outfits by some of his designs!

~1. What inspired you to start drawing as a young child? As a child, I was influenced by Disney movies that I watched. I found the animated female characters, and the way Walt Disney portrayed Women very inspiring to draw. I had no idea back then that what I was drawing could translate to fashion and design. It was something I just loved to do and naturally progressed!

~2. During that time, did you feel drawing was your way of expressing yourself? Certainly! I was known as the artistic child in my family and it was definitely a way for me to express myself! Having a creative outlet at such a young age was certainly unique. It was something that came very naturally and I am proud to say that I am self taught!

~3. What is typically your inspiration? Women are my inspiration! I love drawing women and designing for women! The aim is to make a woman look timeless and beautiful. I love looking back at vintage fashion images from the 50's and 60's because women always dressed so feminine and classy. I take inspiration from that and bring it into the modern day!

~4. Who is your role model? I don't really have a role model, but I do have inspirations! I'm inspired by designers and artists who like to portray women in a way that i love. I count Jason Wu, Robert Best, Elie Saab, David Downton, & Rene Gruau as my influences. They all have a timeless style that I really relate to!

~5. In your designs, do you typically stick with vivid colors or a mix of contrast and shades? I think I am probably known most for my work being quite vivid and bright, but I do like to switch it up now and again too! It all depends on the season I design/sketch for also. Also depends on the inspiration.

~6. If you could live anywhere in Asia, Europe, or South America, which country would you find the most inspiration? To be honest, I haven't travelled much, but I would love to visit everywhere!!! I think you can find inspiration from all over the world and sometimes in the most unexpected places too! London is my home, but I definitely see myself travelling a lot and becoming even more inspired. I'm working hard to make sure my dreams become a reality so that I can achieve everything that I set out to achieve in the near future.

Hayden provided some of his designs of his latest collection, Cocktail Couture. Sadly, I wasn't able to provide outfits for each design. However, his designs have inspired me to work more on my own designs, so I added some of my own illustrations. Hayden Williams has truly been the inspiration and role model I need for pursuing my dreams. So my advice: find that someone and be inspired. Thanks for viewing!
Perhaps they're my best designs I have drawn. I want to say thanks to Hayden Williams, one of my inspiring role models, and more designs will be coming soon. Thanks Hayden!~ReneA P.

Also to include are three more designs. Hayden said I could use more if I like. He is most know for the designs Rihanna and the Kardashians. Of course I searched the blog for a few more to add. Hope you're as awe-stricken as I am!

Très Chic

Photo Credit; Top; Skirt; Shoes; Belt; Bangle; Clutch; Hat
I liked this design because it was classy and chic. Here I have a stripe top paired with a pink pencil skirt. Also included are the floppy, felt hat, a gold bangle, black strappy heels, and a black, suede clutch. And of course, Hayden Williams specialized belts aren't in stores yet (though I would gladly buy three!) I found a gold belt with a gold disk buckle. Ready for that cruise now!

Lana Del Rey

I heard about Lana Del Rey while searching through iTunes a few mouths back. Her single, "Born to Die," was free so I bought it and loved her vocals. When I saw this design, I just knew I could find something to match. Here I have a yellow, floral dress with a beaded bracelet, beaded, layered necklace, and yellow heels. So darlin!

Remember my post about my favorite summer tunes? I found these designs for Rihanna's Talk That Talk tour, and since I already had an outfit created, no need to be redundant. Of course, the outfit, like the designs, are for the song "Talk That Talk," where I imagined Rihanna in denim, studs, and rhinestones to give off her bad girl personal.

Well, that's all for now. Thank you Hayden Williams for the designs and interview. Thank you my lovelee readers for viewing this post. And remember: don't hesitate to follow your dreams. Find that special someone you look up to and let them be your motivation.  Talk to ya'll lata!

Summer Tunes pt. 2

In the previous post, I created outfits for my top played songs. Of course, I'm not done with exposing your favorites. Below are more outfits and songs. Like any you see? Enjoy your summer!

"Talk That Talk (ft. Jay-Z)" by Rihanna
Photo Credit; Bib Necklace; Tank; Vest; Jeans; Bangle Set; Bangle; Shoes; Ring
I'm loving Rihanna's new album. Hip hop is most definitely one of my fave genres! In this outfit, I have a crop tank with printed, jeans and a denim vest. As for the accessories, I stuck with black and silver pieces to accent the studs on the tank.

"Rumor Has It" by Adele
Photo Credit; Dress; Shoes; Earrings; Ring
Ever heard of your boyfriend trying to get back with you? Yeah, it happens, but sometimes we're already moving on to someone new. In Adele's song, "Rumor Has It", she's going through that same problem. Adele's album 21 won the Grammy Award for being Album of the Year, not to mention the Brit Award for being the British Album of the Year. And with her album, dolls, anyone can regain their confidence!

Anyways, in this outfit, I combined a black, body-con dress with black pumps, a spiral ring, and black teardrop earrings for a cute, dashing look that shows 'em your over him!

"Beez In the Trap (ft. 2 Chainz)" by Nicki Minaj
Photo Credit; Crop Top; Jeans; Ombre Shades; Paint Splattered Shades; Wallet; Cuff; Earrings; Shoes
Listening to Nicki Minaj's new song gave me so many ideas about this outfit. As we know, she's the type of girl that expresses herself through crazy colors, outrageous hairstyles, and confident-boosting tracks! Like Lady G, she's never under-dressed. Of course, I don't advise on wearing big, poufy mini-dresses to the mall (though I applaud you if you did!) but this outfit will be just as fab and Nicki-worthy!

Here in this set is a beaded, crop top with tie-dyed skinnies, a printed Calvin Klein wallet, a leather cuff from Ann Taylor, and color-block heels. Also included are splattered hoop earrings, and you can mix in match with ombre sunglasses (the It trend for the summer: Ombre!) or paint-splattered Wayfarer sunglasses.

"Brokenhearted" by Karmin
Photo Credit; Top; Blazer; Pants; Shoes; Earrings
Karmin is the pop-duo from 2010. Their hit song, "Brokenhearted," is what many know them as. My cousin introduced me to them, saying that they rap a little, but where still great. My brother, of course, wasn't interested, but I've seen many ads in magazines about them, so I downloaded some tracks.
Of course, they grabbed my interested, and they're a top song on my list. The couple, Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, are engaged. Amy's look is very chic with pop colors and prints. She also embraces the menswear idea into her looks and the pouf! In this outfit, I combined a polka-dot blazer with a white, sleeveless button-down. Included are grass green pants and red, polka-dot heart earrings. Also, to complete the look, I added tan heels (sorry, no bow tie. Couldn't find one, so I'm doing a fashion how-to soon!)

"Starships" by Nicki Minaj
Photo Credit; Top; Leggings; Shoes; Bangle Set; Belt; Paint Splattered Shades; Earrings
Starships were meant to fly, and so is this song! My sister is actually a huge Nicki Minaj fan, so when she showed me the video (and she sorta forced me too hahaha), I really liked the song and vivid colors, so I downloaded the song. I'm hoping to get the Deluxe album that comes with a free T-shirt someday; however, back to this outfit. In the video at the end, Nicki is partying at a party, so I decided to make a party outfit for the beach. We have a light green top with fuchsia leggings, and fuchsia pumps. Also included are a bangle set, spiked hoop earrings, and a Rosetta belt. And let's not forget those paint-splattered shades!

Here's part 2! Part three coming soon! Lata dolls!

Summer Tunes pt. 1

Hey dolls! So throughout the course of the new year, artists are bringing out new tunes and singles to promote their albums and images. I for one love music with a passion! Coming from a background where many members of my family sung, dance, or play instruments (any violinists out there?!) and having a father that would make beats and music since I was a baby, music simply runs through my body!

I like all types of musical genres because of the beats and sometimes the lyrics. I especially love singing along (but you won't see me on American Idol!) Not to mention my iPod is filled with over four hundred songs from back in the day to now! My favorite artists have been my idols for years!

This summer, we're hearing new artists coming out with hit singles like Kat Graham and One Direction (the British band). So to dedicate this post to new songs, I've created fashion inspired outfits to my top, played songs!

Heart Killer by Kat Graham
Photo Credit; Tank; Blazer; Shorts; Pumps; Earrings; Bangles
Kat Graham's new song talks about a bad boyfriend that doesn't treat his love right. In Kat's album cover, she sports out an animal-print jacket paired with leather shorts and a bandeau Get this same look and vibe with a animal print tank, like cheetah, paired with cut-off shorts. Next sport out a blazer like Kat's. To complete the look I have multiple bangles, studded pumps, and heart stud earrings to make you look bad-azz!

Boyfriend by Justin Bieber
Photo Credit; Vest, Bandeau, Spiked Cuff; Boots; Layered Necklace; Medallion Necklace; Jeans

I'm not really a fan of Justin Bieber. I could never really like his voice. But when I heard this song playing on the radio, I immediately fell in love with the lyrics, the beat, and well, his voice! Imagine being serenaded by this song?! Watching the video, I got the vibe of a hip hop, street dancer wearing distressed denim, vests, and boots. Here I combined a pyramid-studded vest and spandex bandeau with distressed jeans and cobalt, leather boots by none other than Betsey Johnson. To complete the look, I added a spiked cuff, a layered, chain necklace, and a heart medallion. Now you're ready to roll with Justin and his crew!

Who's That Boy (ft. Dev) by Demi Lovato
Photo Credit; Dress; Vest; Shoes; Necklace; Earrings; Pearl Ring; Rhinestone Ring; Bow Ring

I downloaded Demi Lovato's new album, "Unbroken," and automatically I fell in love. I like how she switched from pop to R&B, showing off her more grown-up/confident side. I had always been a Demi supporter since "Camp Rock!" In her song, Who's That Boy, she has this more sexy, Bebe vibe. Here I took a bodycon tube dress, paired it with a faux fur vest and glitter, peep-toe pumps. As for the jewelry, I like multiple rings, and the statement necklace is chic. Perfect for a party where you spotted a cute boy!

All Night Long (ft. Missy Elliot and Timbaland) by Demi Lovato
Photo Credit; Headband; Leggings; Nightdress; Slippers

Alright, now that you've got that boy's number, you can call him up and...TALK! Stop bein' nasty!
Have a midnight chat with him in a cute nightdress that you lounge around in. Keep your legs and toes warm with nylon leggings and fuzzy slippers. And keep your hair out of the way with a cute, braided headband. Nothing like getting comfortable and talking (I'm watchin' you, now!)

Climax by Usher
Photo Credit; Blouse; Skirt; Bandeau; Fedora; Cuff; Necklace; Flats
I have to say, Climax is a really moving song...including the music video. Usher claims that the song is not about sex, so I interrupted it as split decisions. So in this ensemble, we have a high low, sheer blouse paired with a maxi skirt with a slit. Next I added the white bandeau to match the white fedora (hey, I like mixing and matching!) Added are flats for a soft, melodramatic vibe, a cross pendant, and a shattered cuff. Very daring in my taste, plus I just couldn't make up my mind!

Comment with your thoughts and song suggestions below. Part 2 and 3 coming soon! Love ya dolls!
