...

Hey, Faithful Readers! It's Alice, your new writer. I wrote the last post, "The Silver Bullet of December". I'll talk about myself later, because I have something to say. Well,  as I was going through past posts, and I saw an AH-MAY-ZING one from October called "Fashion Through Poetry.". It was extremely inspiring, and also a bit odd, because I am often dressing to resemble a story, or a certain piece of writing that touches me. That post was practically reading my mind.  Therefore, I decided to create a second one.

A Dream Within A Dream
Edgar Allen Poe

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

The Dreamy, Mysterious, Questioning Quality within the poem is brought to life through floating chiffon, arm bangles, and loose, gypsy-like lace.

Jabberwocky
Lewis Caroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

'Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood a while in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One two! One two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Fire and Ice
Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Thats all for today, It's getting late! Tell you what you think!

The Silver Bullet of December!

Silver is the hottest color of December. This sleek shade can be fun and professional at the same time, and is, honestly, fun to wear. For example, today I took at braided silver waist-belt (Forever 21) and paired it with a plain black long sleeve, and knit silver leggings. This simple style earned me loads of compliments, and I felt comfortable as well.  To be honest, this color appears risque, but is easy to pull off.  If you are still feeling a bit hesitant, or unsure what to wear it with, jewel tones always look gorgeous with silver. Forest Green, Ruby and Amethyst with silver is a sure bet that your outfit will be great, Just remember- Don't overdo it, keep accessories minimal, and keep it simple!

Haft Tucked Style

Recently, I've been seeing the half tucked fashion style lately in magazines, store websites, and on TV advertisements. And today, I decided to try it out wearing my favorite pair of black jeans, a black long-sleeve top, and an animal print flowy tank. So what I did was I tucked in both my black top and the tank in the front and left the rest hanging. Of course, my attempt wasn't as effective as I wanted it to be: the tank was a little too long, so the extra fabric covered the tucked part. Perhaps I'll try again with something a little shorter or possibly tuck in more fabric.

Anyways, I'm beginning to like this style. It's super creative and adds more ump to an outfit. I do suggest tucking in tops like T-shirts, denim shirts, button-downs, and possibly sheer. Perhaps my next attempt will be more successful than today :D

The thing about jeggings and leggings...

Okay. Honestly. The trend should be done. One thing I noticed with teen girls is that they're constantly wearing jeggings and leggings as pants. For me, I don't like the style. It seems as if you're naked and exposed. It makes me uncomfortable to wear leggings with a top that does not go below my bottom. As for the jeggings, I'm a bit tired of skinny jeans myself (considered all I have in my closet are skinny jeans :[). Anyhow, if I was a superhero my name would be "Fashion Critic" because that's what I'm going to do now.

All around you can probably find girls in "dress-code" violation. Girls would say, "Whatever! They can't tell me what to wear!" But then again, they can because they own the school. Besides they tell us to not wear these things because it "distracts the learning enviroment." Well, I can't see how hats can distract someone, but they claim they can cause "fights and violence." What, is the hat gang in town?

Girls, to me, who wear leggings as pants and tight jeggings make me wonder if their very lady-like. Honestly, they're not (have you heard what they talk about?!) And my motto is: "You have to be a lady and keep your dignity because people will respect you But sometimes, it's okay to have a little fun."

With the "fun" part in my little quote, that means it's okay to wear cute skirts; you can break-out those stiletoes; there's noting wrong with showing a little skin. But in the end, ladies, we're still teenagers. What's wrong with wearing age-appoatiate clothing, and do not say it makes you look young.

In my opinion, girls how dress really sexy makes me wonder if they respect themselves. Can someone really take you seriously if you dress like a hooker? No, not at all. Also, would you really want boys looking only at your behind and not at your beautiful face?

What I'm saying is, respect yourself, and school rules. Believe me: there are other ways to be hot without really trying.

Here are some examples for Legging-equiette:

Outfit 1
Top, Leggings, Pumps, Leg warmers

Outfit 2

Jeggings, Top, Coat, Boots

Outfit 3
Skirt, Leggings, Top, Belt, Oxfords

My Guilty Pleasures...

Gosh! Can ya'll believe the year is almost over?! I mean, sooner or later, I will be off to college :D
But thought the year is coming to an end, I look back at all the miracles and mishaps I had in 2011. Some are total lol moments and others are...no comment :")

But anyways, there are a few handful of things I've done over the year.

I played on Stardoll...every single day.
I just love Stardoll, and yes, it's true: I've been playing on it EVERY single day since summer break. I can't take myself away from it. Too. Much. Fame. Fashion. And Fun (well friends too, but whatever).

Okay, I kinda sorta put my make-up on in the school bathrooms.
Ever since school started, I have to get up extra early and take an hour long bus ride to school (not cool.) Before, I would have tons of time to do my make-up. Now I don't. I emphasize with all the previous junior and senior girls who would do their hair and make-up in the bathrooms in the morning. They just don't have the time anymore.

Ever since it got cold, I've been drinking hot chocolate.
I love hot chocolate! And since it's gotten colder (and I got me a coffee cup), I'm able to making hot chocolate in the morning before I leave for school. Lately, I've been putting mocha cocoa powder in my hot chocolate (a little boast of caffeine for my day).

I've scowled at freshmen.
Honestly: they think their all that! They took up the back seat of the bus and are always loud. For one, the back of the bus is suppose to be reserved for juniors and seniors (and sometimes sophomores who are cool with the upperclassmen). Plus, they needs to keep it down in the afternoon. Don't nobody wanna hear conversations about nothing *sigh* Okay, I'm calm.

I've been eating school sub sandwiches.
Over the years, a girl can grow tired of pizza and chicken fingers. School lunch nowadays just ain't that healthy. But ever since my school has been serving sub sandwiches and wraps, I've been getting a much better meal. I'm full (until I get home) plus I feel a whole lot healthier. Move over undercooked chicken wings! The subway's comin'!

I'm dressing on how I feel.
Some days I wanna wear skirts. Then other days, I just wanna wear skinnies. And other times, I just wanna go shopping hahaha. But this year, I feel as if I have matured a little bit more. Freshmen year, I took risks and was trying to find who I was. Sophomore year, I settled with rocker chic and 80's glam. Now, I'm more business casual and simple, yet stylish. It reflects my maturity well. I wonder what senior year will be like :)

I'm keeping up with The Winx Club.
Over the summer, I have been watching The Winx Club TV shows on YouTube. Currently I'm on season four. I love the Winx. I remember being a child and watching a few shows, but I had never actually gotten the chance to see it (we don't have cable). But I'm glad it's still here (in fact, as I am writing this post, I am watching an episode hahaha).

Well, I guess that's about all. Don't complain bout my writing. I writes how I feels and I do what I please. I don't need no thought control! Lata Ya'll!
