How-To Halloween Costumes and Ideas

Before the big day comes along, I want to post one more article with Halloween Ideas. This week, I'm gravitating to some of my favorite shows that have the best fashion inspiration!

2 Broke Girls: Max and Caroline

2 Broke Girls Max and Caroline Channing are one dynamic duo, and a great idea of a couples costume. Get their iconic waitress look by taking a mustard-colored dress and outlining the sleeves with red ribbon. Add more ribbon along the front and back as seams. Use a red apron to complete the look. Decide between you and your friend on who will be Caroline and who will be Max. One person will wear black, knee-high boots and cuff bracelets, while the other will wear clunky wedges or ankle boots and a pearl, statement necklace.

Scandal: Olivia Pope

One tip we can all learn from Scandal's Olivia Pope is to stay strong, even if everything seems to be crumbling around you. Not only is dressing up as Olivia for Halloween will be easy and simple, you get to possess a sexy, business woman attitude! Every woman should own at least two pantsuits in their wardrobe, so just throw that on with a pair of pumps and a statement necklace. Conservative, yet creative for the holiday. Just curl your hair, and bonus: you can check your phone throughout the night and say, "We are Gladiators in suits." (I double dare you to!)

Teen Wolf: Lydia Martin

Self-centered, 5'3", strawberry blonde Lydia Martin is adorable, strong, intelligent, perky, and a banshee! Like me, she's short, so she always wears short dresses and skirts, and I'm pretty sure she's never caught at school without a pair of heels on. Get her look by pairing a short, floral dress with a jean jacket. Throw on a pair of ankle booties, and gloss your lips with a flirty pink that will  even have Stiles crushing for you, too!

That's all I have for you loves! Happy Halloween!

How-To Halloween Costumes and Ideas pt. II

Last week, I provide you all with a few Halloween tips to try. Today, I'm adding more to the list by centering on one of my favorite time periods in the History of Fashion: the 90's!

Clueless Idea

Even though, according to my mother, no one actually wore clothes like in Clueless, that doesn't mean you can't dress up like one of your favorite characters. Get the Clueless Idea when you pair this skater, tartan dress with a pair of Mary Jane pumps. Complete the look with knee-high socks, a floral headband, and long, wavy curls!

On the TLC Tip

With the new TLC biopic coming out soon, I've been reminiscing a bit, and revisiting some of TLC's best hits! So for this Halloween, I would go as Left Eye, since I just got bangs. To get the look, pair a cropped top with a pair of baggy sweatpants  over a pair of shorts (a signature TLC fashion statement). If you don't own a pair of baggy sweatpants, just borrow your brother's or  your boyfriend's! Complete the look with sneakers, bright eye shadow on the eyes, and a black mark/stripe under your left eye.

Doug!

I seriously had the hardest time trying to figure out which 90's cartoon I wanted to feature for the blog! I began reminiscing just from looking through photos on Google. So finally, I decided to go with a simple look, and feature "Doug." This was one of my favorite shows growing up, and honestly, Porkchop is the reason I will never eat pork chops (I mean, come on! I was a kid, so you can imagine how weird that dish was too me!)
Anyways, combine a green sweater vest with a pair of khaki shorts and a white tee. Throw on a pair of white socks and a pair of red shoes. Carry around a purple, plush terrier puppy because Porkchop is just as important in this outfit as he is in the show!

That's all for now, loves! I have many more ideas for the perfect Halloween! BOO!

Get the Look: Fall Looks in Nude

How-To Halloween Costumes and Ideas

It's my favorite time of the year, meaning candy and costumes! For this Halloween, take your costume to a new level and skip the cliché. Be bold and beautiful with these How-To ideas to make your Halloween a spectacular event!

The Cat's Meow

The cat costume can be so overdone, and every year there are many people who choose to go the ultra-sexy route. However, this Halloween, be edgy when you pair this printed sweater with a pair of printed skinny jeans. Edgy ankle booties with a studded bow will capture the attention of many. Keep the accessories simple yet unique, like these cat studs and cat pendant. For the day time, throw on a cat-ear beanie and a pair of cat sunglasses. And for the night time, wear this mysterious cat mask for a sneaky appeal.

Pretty Princess

You don't see the Princess of Cambridge wearing a huge, poufy pink dress, do you? So for Halloween, pair a purple (the color of royalty) off-the-shoulder dress with burgundy or plum pumps. Finish off the look with a faux fur collar, a tiara headband, and a spritz of Vera Wang Princess.

Pirate's Life for Me

If you're a total fan of Captain Jack Sparrow (or just love pirates), then the Pirate's life is for you! Skip the skimpy, shredded threads and transform yourself into a headstrong and conquering pirate! Combine a white, loose blouse with a pair of harem pants and a stripe vest. Finish the look off with knee-high boots and a wide, waist belt. For the accessories, traditional skull earrings and pirate hat will go great with a fake (or real) pirate sword. Aaaarrrrgggghhh!

Harlequin Makeup Tips

Already have a rocking costume, but have absolutely no idea how to tackle your makeup? Here's one way to get the Harlequin look! Using white, or tan powder (something that's at least two or three shades lighter than your skin tone) and dust your face and neck. You will need about two or three layers to get that clown look. Next, using cream or peach eye shadow, cover the lid, crease, and upper crease. Maybelline Color Tattoo shadow will give you a cream-finish look. Instead of black eye shadow, use liner, like Stila Smudge Pot, for that crème finish. Get a little dramatic with the lashes with lots of mascara, and draw designs with liner, like Kohl Liner Extreme by Laura Mercier.

Have fun, loves!
