I haven't bragged about this, but I am a semi-finalist in the World Poerty Movement Competition. I entered my poem Is It Okay to Cry and never really expected to be picked! So lately, I've been scouting the web, hoping to find more peotry competitions. And lemme tell you this: I have never expected to actually pay to enter a competition that awards money.
Ha, really? Doesn't seem odd that you have to pay to enter a competition to win money? Why do you think I decided to not compete in the Joann's Prom Competition?
But I find other competionts, like the Ayn Rand Essay Contests, to be more reliable than the rest. At least you get a free book if you don't make it to the finals.
Anywyas, enough about me. What is this post about? Well, writing stories and peoms are fun because you get to express your feelings and allow your emotions to roam free. When I wrote Is It Okay to Cry, I was literally crying at that point. Later on in this post, I'll share my poem, but first, how bout some fashion!
I picked four great poems and interpettened them (or expicated) and created fashion outfits.
"The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe (Giordano, Robert. "The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe." PoeStories.com. 27 June. 2005. 15 October. 2011.)
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door-
Only this, and nothing more."

"You ought to have seen what I saw on my way
To the village, through Mortenson's pasture to-day:
Blueberries as big as the end of your thumb,
Real sky-blue, and heavy, and ready to drum
In the cavernous pail of the first one to come!
And all ripe together, not some of them green
And some of them ripe! You ought to have seen!"

Sometimes when I'm alone
I Cry,
Cause I am on my own.
The tears I cry are bitter and warm.
They flow with life but take no form
I Cry because my heart is torn.
I find it difficult to carry on.
If I had an ear to confide in,
I would cry among my treasured friend,
but who do you know that stops that long,
to help another carry on.
The world moves fast and it would rather pass by.
Then to stop and see what makes one cry,
so painful and sad.
And sometimes...
I Cry
and no one cares about why.
