Hot Trend and DIY Project

*shaking my head* I can't believe I haven't seen this coming! Feather earrings are the hottest thing for this summer. Feather earrings give a person a Boho Chic style or even a rocker edge, like Ke$ha. The ones on the left can be found at Urban Outfitters for around $15.00. The ones below can be found at WetSeal and Forever21 for less than $10.00.

Those fabulous accessories can be dressed with a cute maxi dress, sundress, your fave skinnies, or studs. Though I am not the one to follow trends (I make them), I prefer something a little more ReneA. That's why I'm going to show you how to make your own fab feather earrings!

What you'll need:
  1. Feathers (prints in so many colors are a do!)
  2. Earring hooks
  3. Hot glue (or super glue)
  4. Ribbon
  5. Scissors
Step 1:
First, take your feathers and lay them on your ribbon. Using your glue gun, glue each feather onto the ribbon. Wait for the glue to dry to continue.
Step 2:
Next, wrap the ribbon around the feathers until the tops are completely covered with ribbon. (Cut off excess if you need to.) Glue the end down.
Step 3:
Take a small strip of ribbon and wrap one end around the end of the earring hook (you can use a jump ring if you want). Glue the end down.
Step 4:
Now you have a beautiful earring. Do the same steps with the second earring.

Take a step further:
You can glue gems onto the earrings to hide the wrapped ends, if you would like.

Trip To New York: Things I forgot

Just some extra pictures I didn't get a chance to post!

From our hotel window

Just a replica. No worries hahaha

I would love to see this Broadway show

Horse Carriage!

Yes, those turtles are real, and yes, they're standing on top of one another

I just like this billboard. Maybe it's graffiti, or maybe someone actually painted this. Either way, it fascinates me

I just had to get the clouds. We were in the sky!

Trip to New York, Day 3, Saturday

Yet again, I was hoping to get some sleep. However, my mom and I had to go to the Met Museum, go back to this bead store, and have brunch at this nice restaurant.

We first headed to the restaurant. The restaurant was really FAR away, so we had to do a LOT of walking. Luckily, we made it to the restaurant an hour before our reservation. So we walked a little further to the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum. We went into the museum's gift shop, but we had to head back to the restaurant.
When we got back, we sat down to eat a three course meal. However, the took forEVER to serve us (considered there was like 5 people eating at the restaurant), so we decided not to go to the bead store.
Although, we did get a chance to go to the Met Museum to see the Alexander McQueen "Salvage Beauty" exhibit. Yet, there was an hour long wait, an we had no time for that. But I did buy a fashion book in the gift shop (an Alexander McQueen "Savage Beauty" poster and calender was like $180!)

So we headed back to the hotel. We walked all the way to the subway station, going down Park Ave. and Madison Ave.
When we reached the hotel, we checked out and headed to the airport. And despite all the fun we had in New York, we were happy to be back home. Can't wait till the next trip!

Trip to New York, Day 2, Friday

Here's Robin Roberts
Waking up, feeling a little sore, I couldn't believe day 1 had ended, and day 2 was beginning. Jennifer Hudson was performing in Central Park for the Today Show. As lazy as my mom and I were, we finally got to the concert, which hadn't even started yet! Anyways, Jennifer was amazing and so beautiful! She performed "No One Gunna Love You", "Spotlight", and "I Got This". We got great photos and videos, plus an awesome poster. The concert was amazing and not to mention how fabulous Jennifer was!
The fabulous Jennifer Hudson

After the concert, my mom and I went back to the hotel to chill for a moment before my grandfather's cousin came to give us a little tour around the Garment District. At the Garment District, we bought tons of fabric and found so of the cah-yu-test clothes ever--such as this jumpsuit I am wearing.

When our tour was over, my mom and I kept walking around the Garment District--looking around. After getting so overwhelm at Macy's, lol, we went back to the hotel to rest a bit.

After resting, we figured out what subway to take, and we headed down to Chinatown. One tip: the vendors will always try to make you buy fragrances, phone covers, jewelry, and mostly purses. But despite all that, we shopped and took some great pictures. My mom bought tons of purses, and I got clothes and some Harajuku Lovers perfume.

After all that shopping, we went back to the hotel to crash for the night.

Trip to New York, Day 1, Thursday

I gotta tell ya! It has been a long time since I got on a plane. So long, I vaguely remember the flight. But now my memory is much better--plus why would I forget this amazing adventure of mine?

Anyways, as my mother and I boarded the plane, excitement was running through my veins because I was going to New York! I didn't sleep a wink the night before! I learned that the airplane had satellite radio, so I tuned into Radio Disney (Happy 15th Birthday!) and Allstar Weekend "Not Your Birthday" started playing (fave song!) Then, as we were taking off, Taio Cruz "Higher" was playing. How ironic?!

Anyways, when we landed and got to the hotel, what did we do first? Well we visited the FIT Museum (unfortunately we couldn't take photos). The walk was long and hot! But the museum was great, plus I had a chance to see how the fashion was back then. Next we took a tour of Parsons (my dream school.)

Afterwards my mom and I had to get ready for the Black Eyed Peas concert. We did a little shopping to find clothes that were cute. However, as some of you may have known, the concert had to cancel because of the storm. But that didn't stop me and my mom. We took a walk around Times Square and ate at Bubba Gump (named after Forest Gump.)

The food was great! And after all that walking up and down Times Square and Broadway, my mom and I headed back to the hotel and crashed for the night.

Maggie Q on Stardoll

Oh my goodness! When I signed on Stardoll to dressed up some celebs, I saw that Maggie Q was one of the most popular dressups. I literally jumped for joy because she was the doll I had been telling Stardoll to add all month long! And lucky me, my wish was granted!

Maggie Q can be best known as the lead role in Nikita, the hit action-drama television show on CW 69. Maggie Q plays Nikita, a trained government assassin, who escapes her agency called Division to change her life and get revenge. She recruits Alex, a troubled teen from Russia, who also plans to get revenge on Division for killing her beloved family. Alex is played by Lyndsy Fonseca, who is best known as Colleen Carlton on  The Young and The Restless, Dylan Mayfair on Desperate Housewives, and Ted Mosby's future daughter on How I Met Your Mother.

Nikita has had two successful seasons and is working on the third season now. Maggie Q is gorgeous and always has supper cute clothes and cool gadgets on the show. And lets not forget she is an awesome heroine!

Here are some of my dressups from stardoll!

Whether it's stripes, floral, animal, or Tye-dye, prints are the new it for this summer. You can either mix prints with neutrals to make simple looks, or with bold colors if you're feeling fierce. But mixing different prints together is even more daring! Here are some inspirational outfits for this summer.

My print outfit
I successfully combine three different types of prints: cheetah, zebra, and stripes!

It just took a little creativity and uniqueness to create this perfect outfit. I'm wearing a purple cheetah print tank, a DIYed blue and black striped shawl, and a zebra print necklace.
